Soul Sauce is a close harmony choir which formed in 2008 to fill a gap which existed in this community in terms of vocal ensembles. The group of local professional and non-professional musicians is directed by Jane Cowan with piano accompaniment by Joan Harris. The choir is often joined by other local instrumental groups including The New Vibes Jazz Quartet, the Frank Adamo Band, and Top Pocket.
Our mandate is to explore a variety of both accompanied and a capella repertoire including jazz standards, big band arrangements, pop hits, traditional spirituals and Broadway tunes. The choir performs at both public and private events in and around the K-W Region. Soul Sauce's aim is to share our love of ensemble singing with our audiences while remembering Duke Ellington's advice:
"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing!"
